Club Coaches

We are lucky to have many coaches who regularly give up their time freely to help in our coaching programme

Head Coach – Alan Maule

Alan followed in his father’s footsteps in playing for our senior teams and now gives his time to coaching our 1st 2nd and 3rd teas during the week and follows the 1st xi every Saturday. He is our lead coach for our U13 and U15 sessions on Thursday evenings and has completed his UKCC2 and the associated Development modules .  He also coaches the Oxfordshire County 11 and Oxfordshire Ladies squads.

Lead Coach – Emma Boswell

Emma has returned to Tiddington, following her time in the Navy, where she played and led the Navy Women’s cricket team to many successes.  Injury has forced retirement from the game, but she is following her love of cricket by coaching youngsters.  She has completed her UKCC2 and will be our lead coach on Friday evenings for primary school children.  She  shares the Club’s  passion in promoting cricket for girls and coaches the Oxfordshire  County Girls under 11 team and has recently become Oxfordshire Cricket’s Director of Womens and Girls’ Cricket.  She will also assist in the delivery of the new AllStars Cricket sessions.

Paul Gladdy

Paul is a UKCC2 coach and had completed his Development modules, he has coached at Tiddington for many years, he is has coached with Oxfordshire, assisting the Ladies and Girl’s teams.  He has a wealth of experience and again has a great passion for girl’s cricket, having had a daughter who has had a successful career on the Oxfordshire Pathway.

Will Goodman

Will has come through our own Player Pathway and is a UKCC2 plus the Development modules.  He has played at all ages within the Club and is successful as a keeper and batsmen in our 1st team.  Will works with Alan on our U13 and U15 sessions on Thursday evenings and also with him at Oxfordshire County Boys under 11.

Neil Pickup

Neil has recently moved to the area and has taken the role of 3rd XI captain for the season,  he aims to have a balance of experience and fresh talent, continuing the ethos of bringing youngsters through our Pathway.  He is a UKCC2 coach and has completed his Development modules.  He brings  a wealth of experience of coaching within the Oxfordshire Cricket pathway and is currently lead coach of the County Under 10 boys, as well as co-coordinating many tours for differing age groups.  He will be supporting sessions at Secondary level to give a smooth transition for children into the 3rd Xi

Cally Evans

Cally is a UKCC2 coach and has been working with our primary children on a Friday evening, his enthusiasm and drive is infectious amongst the younger children and was very successful in running ECB Chance to Shine at Great Milton School last year , resulting in many new faces.  Cally is coach for Oxfordshire U11 development team this season. He has come through our youth system and is a key member of our 3rd team.

Matt Johnston

Matt is a UKCC2 coach, he has worked with our primary children on a Friday evening, he is well organised and enthusiastic.  He has spent a season playing and coaching in Australia, with our reciprocal club Toombul in Brisbane, which has added to his experience.  Matt has come through our youth system and has worked at the After School Club at Wheatley Primary School, which has resulted in recruiting more children to our pathway.

Lucy Gladdy

Lucy, daughter of Paul, was identified at 11 as having potential as a cricketer and went for trials and became part of the Oxfordshire Pathway, playing at all ages up to the County Women’s team. Lucy is a key member of our 3rd team and coaches Oxfordshire Girls Under 15 team.  She is currently at Uni in Gloucestershire and is enjoying training with the University.

Phil Manning

Phil is UKCC2 qualified and has been a coach at Tiddington for more years than he would like to remember,  he coaches at our Friday session and runs the under 11 Sunday morning team.  He has recently retired from the game himself,having played at junior and senior levels.

Nick Edmondson

Nick is UKCC2 and is our current President of the Club.  He came to the Club as a senior and has devoted much of his time to the Club’s success on and off the field.  He oversees the ground and is often found mowing and tidying up on a Friday afternoon.  He will coach our youngsters on a Friday evening.

Lesley Pykett

Lesley is UKCC1 and has worked on the youth section for many years.  She is also the Club’s Welfare Officer and can be contacted at any time if issues arise.  She is usually at every Friday session to sign children in and deal with paperwork and will be assisting in the delivery of the new AllStars Cricket.

We have new coaches undertaking their UKCC2 at the moment, it will take a while before they are fully qualified but all have been giving their time on a Friday , working as a young leader.  All have come through our youth system and are fully committed to giving time back to influence the next generation of young cricketers to be the best they can.  : Max Smith – Seam Bowler, Ben Smith – spin bowler, Ellie Noble – seam bowler, Charley Noble – spin bowler.  All these have been through our ages groups as well as County Age group squads.  Max is currently training with the County Men 2nd XI and Ellie has been invited to train with the Southern Vipers, which is the regional women’s team.  Ed Stapley, father or Alice and Martha, is undertaking his UKCC2 and will be helping on a Friday evening .

Coach Support Workers

We have 5 that will be taking the Coach Support Worker course in April, this will give them confidence to assist with warm ups and help at sessions and matches.  We are grateful of their support for our youth pathway,  Rob Richardson, Michelle Richardson, Chris Groves, James Coleman and Rob Peers.

We will have other coaches assisting at different times with matches  and in specialist sessions ,  Matt Maule, Club Captain, Nick Pykett, Chris Goodman.

We are also indebted to our Young Leaders that support our junior sessions,  Tom Kitchin, Charlie Elliott, Joe Elliot, Cameron McCaig., who we hope will turn into great coaches as they get older.

Cricket Activators

With the introduction of the new ECB Allstars Cricket, Lina Budde-Manning will be one of the cricket activators helping to deliver the programme,  This is a new initiative from the ECB , designed to give 5-8 year olds a taste of cricket.  This is in addition to our Friday evening training programme and will run from 4 30 to 5 30 on Fridays, starting 19ht May for 8 weeks.
