PCA Player of the Year

PCA Player of the year award. Yorkshire openers Adam Lyth and Alex Lees have been named the Professional Cricketers’ Association player and young player of the year respectively.

Adam Lyth and Jack Brooks are named on the shortlist for player of the year, alongside Warwickshire spinner Jeetan Patel and Kent all-rounder Darren Stevens, and Alex Lees is among the young player of the year nominations.

Lees is joined on the list by last year’s winner Ben Stokes, of Durham and England, as well as Kent wicketkeeper-batsman Sam Billings and Somerset all-rounder Lewis Gregory.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday evening at the PCA Awards at Old Billingsgate in London.

Lyth, Lees and Brooks were all integral members of Yorkshire’s side that won LV= County Championship Division One for the first time since 2001.

Batsmen Lyth and Lees formed a formidable opening partnership, registering 1,489 and 971 runs respectively, while new-ball bowler Brooks led the way with 68 wickets.

The winners will be announced on Wednesday evening at the PCA Awards at Old Billingsgate in London.
