1st team home v Oxford Downs

After winning the toss captain W. Goodman opted bowl with new recruit Thomas (Weymo) Waynes steaming in down the hill and Aussie import rob lutton trundling up it. Weymo started well bowling with really pace and keeping it tight along with rob with little being scored off the bat. At the 10 over stage downs were 23-0 a well controlled start from Tid. Unfortunately Toms last over went for 16 and Patrick (hammer) Knightley was introduced from the top along with Ben from the railway bank end. Pat who was playing with a broken finger although you would never of guessed from the warm up initially struggled to find his length but found form in his latter overs. Ben smith struck immediately removing crouch for 25 bowled and again in his next over seeing number 3 depart for a duck. The other opener a left hand Aussie import was beginning to strike the ball nicely having being earlier dropped on 10 by the little Milton wall. Neil replaced hammer from the top and was his consistent self going for just 34 off his 10 and picking up a key wicket expertly caught by hammer at short 3rd man, the ball travelled quickly and was furiously spinning, not an easy catch for a man with a broken finger!
Ben then picked up another wicket, bowled and finished with fine figures of 3-24 of his 10. Nick replaced him from the bottom to close out the overs and together with weymo they really restricted downs well. Tom picked up 2 wickets and the last 3 overs of the innings only going for 13 runs leaving the game finely poised going into the tea break with tid requiring 199 to win.

It then proceeded to rain and the match was abandoned at 5:27pm
