Under 9’s Tiddington vs Horspath – 13th June 2017
A glorious summers evening at Tiddington CC witnessed the under nines team have a convincing home win over their rivals Horspath.
Due to the English weather (just ask the Aussies!) it seams an age since their last game which was Horspath away on the 10th May but there were little signs of match fitness being a problem.
Tiddington started taking quick wickets in the opening overs to leave the visitors 187 after the first change of batsmen and with Anna-Louise Payne on her debut taking two great catches and wicket and good performances from Martha Stapley & Tom Usher the visitors were reduced to 178 by the end of the second pair.
Horspath quickly stabilised with some resolute batting and during the course of their next 3 pairs and 12 overs finished on 230.
In reply Tiddington started steadily building their innings, the mid order had excellent perception running on wide’s and overthrows and with a couple of miss-fields they only lost 4 wickets during their 20 overs winning the game 281 to 230.
