Yorkshire squad announced for Abu Dhabi Tour

Yorkshire County Cricket Club have named an 18-man squad for their pre-season tour of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, with the team flying out to the United Arab Emirates on Thursday March 12.

Yorkshire will play a number of matches – in various formats – with the highlights being the four-day Champion County match against the MCC commencing on Sunday March 22 at the Sheikh Zayed Cricket Stadium, Abu Dhabi and the four-team Emirates Airline T20 tournament in Dubai on Friday March 20, where the Vikings have been drawn against rivals Lancashire Lightning. The other semi-final sees MCC taking on Sussex Sharks.

The White Rose county’s England Lions contingent (Jonathan Bairstow, Jack Brooks, Tim Bresnan, Alex Lees, Adam Lyth, Liam Plunkett and Adil Rashid) have all been selected after a successful tour of South Africa last month.

Youngsters Matthew Fisher and Karl Carver will be touring for the first time with the senior squad and are expected to figure prominently during the 2015 season.
